Daniel Herbert, of Holywell Close, Orpington was beaten unconscious and shot in the head at close range in Bermondsey on August 17 last year.

Bobby Winser, 21, from Bermondsey and Michael Campbell, 24 from Camberwell appeared before Judge Jeremy Roberts QC via videolink at the Old Bailey on Wednesday after being charged with the murder of club promoter Mr Herbert last Friday.

The charges came after an appeal from his mother Ann Herbert, from Orpington.

No applications for bail were made during the short hearing for the men, who spoke only to confirm their names and addresses.

They are set to re-appear for a plea and case management hearing at the Old Bailey on December 3.
