Crash victim in hospital after motorbike and pedestrian collide in Beckenham Road

Police have reopened Beckenham Road after a serious crash left a woman needing hospital treatment on Wednesday.

Paramedics and police officers were called to the scene just before 9am, where a motorbike had collided with a pedestrian.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed the pedestrian was rushed to hospital with serious injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

Her condition has since been described as “stable”.

They said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a motorbike and a pedestrian at around 8.50am on Wednesday and a road closure was put in place following the incident.

“London Ambulance Service also attended and a female was taken to a central London Hospital.

“Beckenham Road was later reopened just before 12.30pm.”

No arrests were made.

A spokesperson from London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8.50am today to Beckenham Road, Bromley to reports of a road traffic collision.

“We sent an ambulance crew and a single responder in a car to the scene.

“We treated a woman at the scene for a head injury. She was taken as a priority to a local hospital.”
