A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has died after a car crash near a pub. The teenager, from Orpington, was a passenger in a black Peugeot 106

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has died after a car crash near a pub.

The teenager, from Orpington, was a passenger in a black Peugeot 106 which collided with a green Rover 75 at about 8.30pm last Friday.

Fire crews had to cut the passengers out of the car after the accident near the former Elm Tree pub in Sheerness, on the Isle of Sheppey.

The teenage victim had not been named by police at the time of going to press.

The driver of the car, who is in his 20s, was taken to William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, where he is in a serious but stable condition.

The driver and passenger of the Rover, who are in their 60s, were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham. The road was closed until 3am the next day.
