A 12-YEAR-OLD boy is recovering after being seriously injured when he was knocked off his bicycle.

The schoolboy was taken to University Hospital Lewisham with head injuries, pelvic injuries and internal bleeding after being hit by a Honda Accord in Rangefield Road, Bromley, at about 5pm last Tuesday.

He was transferred to St George's Hospital in Tooting last Wednesday and regained consciousness last Thursday. His injuries are no longer classed as life threatening.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, making a false statement to obtain insurance and driving not in accordance with a licence.

A 45-year-old man from Bromley was also arrested on suspicion of making a false statement to obtain insurance.

Both suspects have been bailed to return to Bromley police station on July 13 pending further inquiries.
