Police are on the hunt for a Bromley man who has escaped from Ford Prison in west Sussex.

He was serving life imprisonment imposed at the Old Bailey in 2007 for conspiracy to rob and firearms offences.

He is described as white, 6ft 1ins, and of muscular build, with short cropped hair.

When last seen he was wearing prison clothes, a green t-shirt with orange shoulder patches and light green trousers. He may have discarded them since.

Det Chf Insp Dave Wardley-Wilkins, of Sussex Police, said: “We have been making widespread enquiries to establish the background to Brown’s disappearance and to find him, especially across the south east where he has family and associates.

“There is currently no evidence that Brown poses a direct physical threat to members of the public, but in view of the seriousness of his offences, including a history of violent offences, we advise anyone who knows where he is, or who has any other information, not to approach him but to contact the police right away.”

Anyone with information can call Sussex Police on 101.
