A serial fraudster with multiple personas was jailed after trying to con a Bromley businessman out of a £40,000 car.

Robert Henry Soanes-Madejski, right, 20, of Greenhithe pleaded guilty to fraud at Croydon Crown Court and will serve 27 months in a young offenders’ institution.

Gaining the confidence of the seller with lies about owning a large company with his fictional father, Soanes-Madejski wrote a cheque for a third of the asking price and promised to transfer the rest.

When the cheque was found to be worthless, the victim searched for his “buyer” and found his image connected with another fraud case.

The conman was found trying to remove the Bentley’s tracking device at a Welling car alarm shop.
