The High Street shop is one of the biggest of its kind in the country
Comedian and rapper Richard Blackwood will be attending the official opening of a sweet shop in Bromley this month.
A new Mr Simms Olde Sweete Shoppe opened its doors on the High Street in September, but the official opening ceremony has yet to take place.
Owner Darren Springer said: “There will be giveaways, sample bags and a competition, and donations to a children’s cancer charity.
“The shop has been open for a while, but we never did an official opening because we didn’t have time.
“This shop is one of the biggest Mr Simms in the country - if not the biggest.”
Mr Springer used to work in IT but decided it was time for a career change.
“It just got a bit boring,” he explained. “I was just sat in front of a computer. I always wanted my own business, but I never knew what to do it in.”
The official opening will take place on Saturday, February 25 at the shop on 135 High Street, Bromley. Mr Blackwood is expected to be there at 2pm.
