FOOTBALL bosses have apologised for homophobic comments published in a match programme.

FOOTBALL bosses have apologised for homophobic comments published in a match programme.

Bromley FC had "I hate gays" appear midway through a report of a game against Lewes FC last Saturday. A photograph of Bath City goalkeeper Steve Perrin had "he is gay" printed in its caption.

A club spokesman said: "The opinion expressed stands contrary to the club's beliefs and was maliciously added by a third party.
