The club, in Camden Park Road, hosted a number of events over the past 12 months spearheaded by captains Bill Edwards and Jean Walker in aid of Variety.

The money raised through golf days and bridge competitions will go towards the charity’s wheelchairs programme, aimed at helping to disabled children get mobile.

Captain Bill said: “Fundraising is an integral part of club activity as it means we can give back whilst enjoying the sport we love.

“We were particularly keen to support Variety as its work focuses on transforming the lives of children and young adults in the area.”
