Full voiced pupils at a Chislehurst school scooped top prize at the Beckenham Festival last week.
The chamber choir from Babington House School, in Grange Drive, took home the Junior Choirs shield at St George’s Church, in Beckenham High Street.
Students performed two pieces, Over The Rainbow composed by Harold Arlem and The Voice by Brendan Graham. They sang in both two and three part harmony, and were complimented on their “fine performance” and “beautiful tone” by judges.
Tim Lello, headmaster, said: “Babington House is very proud of the hard work the girls put into their performances in chamber choir.
“They have a great reputation and we are very happy this is being recognised by the local community.”
