AN AWARD-winning chef spiced things up when he took the top prize in an international curry competition.

Sarawar Uddin Khan (pictured), executive chef at The Kosturi Restaurant in Station Approach, Hayes, won Chef of the Year in the British Fusion Food Festival, held in the five-star Dhaka Sheraton Hotel in Bangladesh.

Mr Khan has already tasted success in regional curry chef competitions, including the Bromley Curry Chef of the Year.

He said: "I am very proud of my achievement, there was a lot of competition.
