Italia Conti Chilsehurst pupils are thrilled that their friend Pixie Lott's song Mama Do has gone straight to No.1 and the youngsters marked her achievement at their annual barbecue last Saturday.

Overnight sensation Ms Lott (pictured) spent her childhood and early youth living in Bickley and from the age of five attended the Italia Conti Associate School in Chislehurst before moving on to the full-time Italia Conti Academy in Central London.

Principal Cliff Vote said: "It's brilliant. Everyone is really happy for her, they all have her CD.

"Pixie was a straight A student with top marks in all her ballet, tap and modern dance classes.
