A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with driving without due care and attention after the death of a schoolboy.

David Chapple, of Mill Place, Chislehurst, was arrested after an incident on Elmstead Lane, Elmstead Woods, on September 22 last year which resulted in the death of 16-year-old Alex Ludlow.

Mr Ludlow, a straight-A pupil at Eltham College and promising sportsman, died at the scene in his father's arms. Mr Chapple will appear at Croydon Magistrate Court on July 3.
