A FORMER teacher of the year and television personality returned to his old school to inspire pupils to aim high.

Phil Beadle, who featured on the Channel 4 documentary The Unteachables, returned to his former school Kelsey Park Sports College in Beckenham.

Speaking to the students before handing out awards for academic excellence last Monday, he said the school gave him 'inspirational education' that laid the foundations for his future career.

He said: "Even the smallest positive things you do every day can help you to achieve in life. No positive energy is ever wasted and builds success in later life.

"I had heard about the substantial improvements at Kelsey and wanted to come and celebrate those achievements with students and staff."

Head of Education for Bromley council, Gillian Pearson, joined parents and guests at the prize giving ceremony.
