Care-home worker Marc Harwood accused of abuse at Lauriston House

Care home worker Marc Harwood,44, has been charged with assault and mistreatment of elderly residents at Lauriston House in Bickley Park Road, Bickley.

The 44-year-old, of Howard Way, Bromley is accused of four counts of ill-treating a care home patient and one count of assault by beating.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between February 1 and August 28 this year against two women and two men.

He appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on Monday of last week (3) and was remanded to appear again at Croydon Crown Court on September 27.

It is believed 13 staff have been suspended in connection with the allegations.

A spokesman for Larchwood Care, which manages Lauriston, said: “As a precaution, a number of staff members have been suspended pending a full investigation.”
