ANTI-WAR campaigners are inviting residents to join them in marking a day of peace.
The Peace One Day event will take place at Community House, South Street, Bromley, on September 21 from 7.30 to 10pm.
Some 192 countries signed up to the United Nations resolution to establish September 21 of every year as a global ceasefire day in the hope that as guns fall silent, real peace will be established one day.
Ann Garrett, the convener of Bromley Peace Council, an umbrella organisation of all peace and human rights campaigning groups in Bromley said: "I have been campaigning for peace all my life. War is not only reckless and pointless it is a lucrative and profitable business and most of the victims are women and children. War is never the answer in the new millennia."
Music will be provided by Strawberry Thieves, and Sandra Robertson will demonstrate Indian head massage.
There will be readings, speakers, stalls and fair-trade refreshments.
Everyone is welcome.
