UP to 100 call centre staff could be made redundant after it was announced their office would close at the end of July.

Some 40 nurses make up the workers who could be relocated to Beckenham after Ealing Primary Care Trust said it would close NHS Direct's offices in Southall, in a bid to save money.

The Beckenham office, in Beckenham Road, is the closest site to Southall.

NHS Direct employs more than 3,000 people at contact centres and offices across the UK.
