The London Fire Brigade 999 Control Centre took over 600 calls over from 6.30pm on November 5 to 7am on November 6, with over 100 calls related to Bonfire Night.

During a 24-hour period control officers dealt with over 950 calls, around 300 hundred more than expected on an average day. The busiest time was between 7 and 9pm.

The most common type of incident recorded were 'secondary fires' which are typically outdoor fires.
