AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy is fighting for his life after a car crashed in to him as he ran for a bus, writes Kate Nelson.

The accident happened last Thursday at about 3.30pm on Elmstead Lane, Bromley, as the boy ran in to the road to catch a bus. He received a serious head injury after the black Volkswagon smashed in to him and was not responding to treatment at the scene.

An air ambulance crew flew him to the Royal London Hospital and he was later transferred to Great Ormond Street where his condition is described as critical. There was traffic chaos as the road was closed until 8pm. The driver was not arrested.
