Firecrews called to loft conversion blaze in Lower Sydenham

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters tackled a fire at a bungalow with a loft conversion on Mayow Road in Lower Sydenham, last night (Tuesday).

Half of the loft and most of the roof were damaged in the blaze.

Firefighters from Forest Hill, Orpington, Beckenham and West Norwood fire stations attended the incident, which happened just after 8.30pm

There are no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
