Bromley is officially one of the top 10 happiest places to live in Britain, according to a survey by property website Rightmove.

The borough finished ninth in the list and was one of only two areas in Greater London, along with Kingston upon Thames, to make the cut.

Researches asked around 40,000 homeowners how they felt about issues such as safety and size of properties in their area as part of the 12 measurements of happiness.

Harrogate, famous for its healing mineral waters, came out on top - trailed by Stockport, Ispwich and Exeter.

Rightmove also compiled a list of the top 10 unhappiest areas, which included just one place outside of Greater London.

East London received the lowest scores, with Croydon, east central London and Ilford not too far behind.

2. Stockport

3. Ipswich

4. Exeter
