The weather may be chilly but the competition is hotting up amongst traders who are vying to have the best-dressed shop windows over the festive season.

Business owners in Bromley North are letting shoppers decide which display is the most attractive and voters are in with a chance of winning a £100 gift voucher to be spent in High Street.

Vice chairman of Bromley North Traders’ Association Wayne Hyde-Gomes came up with the idea. He said: “We are hoping shoppers will get really involved in this fun event. All the traders clubbed together to provide the prize.

“We decided to hold a Christmas raffle event after the success of a Mothers’ Day raffle we held in the spring.

The public will have the chance to win the gift voucher that can be spent in a number of shops along Bromley North High Street after voting for their favourite display.

“We feel it will benefit the local community and traders in generating awareness of businesses and creating a community spirit along Bromley North High Street. It will also improve the look of the whole road.”

Mayor of Bromley, Cllr David McBride, has agreed to draw the winner on Saturday, December 10, at Inside Out Living in High Street at 4pm. The traders association was formed by businesses in Bromley North two years ago.

The lucky winner will be able to spend their voucher in the following shops: City Mobile Phones; British Heart Foundation; Con Amour Restaurant Diners Inn; Frames & Art Francis; Chappell & Sons; R.Hunters Jewellery; The Ink Company; Inside Out Living; Kawaii Town; Nail Tini No 5 Perfection Bridal Wear; Reid’s Music Store; Stage Door; Sparkles Hair Salon Star & Garter; Sure Slim Unique Fashion; Wells Flowers and The Greyhound.
