Wimbledon stars of the future have a chance to try their hand at tennis as clubs across Bromley host open days on Sunday.

Coaches are hoping to find the next Andy Murray as 10 clubs open their doors, including Bromley Tennis Centre, in Avebury Road, Orpington, and Beckenham Tennis Club, in Foxgrove Road.

Kent Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) sent out 65,000 leaflets to homes across Bromley and Bexley, which included details of the open day and vouchers for discounts at local clubs.

Tudor Rowe, LTA tennis development manager for Kent, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for lots of people to try out tennis completely free of charge and we are delighted the clubs will be offering this.

“I would encourage everyone to come down and have a go. It doesn’t matter if you have never played before or how old you are, we would like as many as possible to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.”
