Conference South leaders Bromley’s winless run extended to three games with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Chelmsford City on Saturday.

Bradley Goldberg and Pierre Joseph-Dubois missed chances for the Ravens before Ashley Nicholls was denied by home goalkeeper Carl Pentney.

But just after the half hour mark, Michael Cheek gave the Clarets the lead after Joe Welch had saved Bagasan Graham’s initial shot.

Kieron St Amie headed in a corner from close range to double the lead and Bromley faced a battle in the second half.

Straight after half-time the visitors reduced the deficit through Joseph-Dubois.

Goldberg then had a shot saved before Danny Waldren had a shot saved.

Jack Holland then cleared a City shot off the line, before the home side struck again.

Christian Smith powered home a free header from a corner to clinch the points.

Bromley remain five points clear at the top of the table after nearest challenges Eastleigh conceded an injury time winner to Concord Rangers, although the Sussex club have two games in hand.

Bromley were due to play Dover at home on Tuesday before travelling to Farnborough on Saturday.
