Bromley’s youngsters were successful at the London Youth Games winning medals in both the judo and handball finals at the National Sports Centre.

The Bromley female team finished second overall with more than 600 youngsters competing on the mats. It was a highly competitive day of action.

The judo players were not the only ones to taste medal success at the weekend, the next day, the male handball team won bronze at the London Youth Games finals at the Copper Box Arena, Olympic Park, home of the sport during London 2012.

It was comfortably the biggest youth handball tournament held in the London which 28 boroughs represented.

The borough team enjoyed a fine run through to the semi-finals but were beaten by eventual winners Southwark 3-1.

As losing semi-finallists they shared bronze with Sutton.
