Youngsters from Bromley have won two medals at Europe’s largest annual youth sports event.

Children from Langley Park School for Boys won bronze in the Sportshall Athletics Year 7 male event at the London Youth Games, while pupils from Wickham Common School won gold in Year 5 and 6 Quicksticks Hockey.

Around 2,500 young people from across London competed in the games at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace last week.

Team manager and teacher Marc Winter, from Wickham Common School, said: “It was an absolutely amazing day.

“We worked hard as a team and I’m so proud - determination got us through.”
