Bromley’s strong pre-season run came to an abrupt end as they fell 2-1 at home to Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday.

A strong start from Mark Goldberg’s men saw them take the lead after just 13 minutes through last season’s Committee Player of the Year, Pierre Joseph-Dubois.

He pounced on a rebound after Shamir Mullings won the ball with an aerial challenge and found Jay May, whose shot was parried by Dulwich goalkeeper Phil Wilson straight into the striker’s path.

Shortly before half-time Dulwich were back on level terms at Hayes Lane when Erhun Oztumer’s corner fell for defender Marc Antony, who rose highter than Bromley goalkeeper Max Huxter to head home.

The visitors almost stolet the lead before the break as Kevin James’ free-kick rattled the post, with Huxter rooted to the spot.

Jay May went closest for Bromley after the re-start, before Kevin James again fired in a set-piece which was met by Junior James to give Dulwich the lead.

A draw looked on the cards when Elliot Buchanan headed goalwards, but his effort was saved well by Phil Wilson as Dulwich saw out the game.

Bromley take on Hayes & Yeading away in their opening league tie on August 17.
