Bromley's Christmas lights switch-ons and celebrations

Christmas is nearly upon us and festive arrangements are underway for celebrations in town centres and villages across the borough.
On Wednesday 23 November at 4pm, The Walnuts shopping centre will come alive with yuletide festivity.
There will be a fashion show, stilt walkers and a fireworks display. Charlton Athletic player Bradley Wright Philips will switch on the lights.
Councillor Peter Morgan said: “This is the time of year to enjoy the true spirit of Christmas. Wrapping up warmly and enjoying the festive activities is always a highlight. Town centres will be bustling this Christmas so come along and see the traditional celebrations.”
Other celebrations taking place across the borough:
Bromley town centre – The High Street and Market Square, Thursday November 24. November, 7pm switch on. An opportunity to see Santa and his elves along with live reindeer, Christmas carols and a Samba parade. The Panto stars will switch on the lights in the High Street at 7pm before finishing the celebrations with fireworks and festive performances.
Biggin Hill – New Life Church – Saturday November 19, 4pm – 7pm. The entertainment will include songs by the J C Revival Crew and Christmas carols. Refreshments, including mulled wine and mince pies, will be served before the lights are switched on by Jenny Munro, Managing Director of Biggin Hill Airport.
Chislehurst – High Street – Sunday November 20, 10am – 4pm. There will be a farmer’s market from 10am behind the old Police Station on the High Street, carol singing, mulled wine and mince pies.
St Mary Cray – Around the village green – Friday November 25, 5pm – 6.30pm. The festive fun will include a children’s lantern parade, Christmas stalls and a chance to meet Santa and put your Christmas letter in his post box.
Hayes – New Inn Car Park – Saturday November 26, 4pm – 6pm. Christmas celebration event with carol singing, festive stalls, Santa’s grotto and a bucking reindeer.
Penge – High Street and Blenheim Square – Monday December 19, 12pm – 3pm. Celebrations include carol singing, Christmas fairies, roller skating Christmas puddings and a visit from Santa.
Petts Wood – Queensway and Station Square – Saturday November 26, 12pm – 7pm. Carol singing, live bands and children’s fun fair rides. Father Christmas will be in attendance, with a Christmas lights switch-on and fireworks at 5pm.
