A selection of Bromley's police community support officers were commended for their efforts during the London Olympic and Paralympic Games last week.

Members of the Bromley Town Centre Team received the London Olympic Command Team Commendation, given to those who played a role in delivering the Olympics in their local area.

The five members who received the award faced a number of challenging incidents during the Games, including a suicides, missing people and public safety during the Olympic Torch relay.

Sgt Amanda Weston, head of the Town Centre team, said : “With Bromley being one of the major shopping outlets in south east England, each officer had to take on a significant workload over this period of time.
