Children nervously waiting where they will attend secondary school in September will find out this week

Parents across the borough will find out tomorrow if their child got their preferred secondary school place.

All applications for entry into a secondary this September had to be submitted by the end of last October.

Now the borough’s school admissions’ team have allocated all entries and on Wednesday, March 1, parents will find out if they got their top choice.

Parents who made an application online will be sent an email with the outcome of the application from 5.30pm on Wednesday evening.

Bromley resident applicants, accepted as on time, will also be mailed, by first class post on Wednesday, an offer of a single school place.

An appeals process is in place for those wishing to challenge their child’s school choice in certain circumstances.

Primary school applications will be announced on April 16.

The dates are mirrored across the country and represent a major logistical challenge for schools and council officials.
