The Mayor braved the lion enclosure when he visited Bromley’s twin town in Germany.

George Taylor was invited to stroke the cubs at Neuwied Zoo on his trip there last week.

He also attended a Bromley Youth Music Trust concert and visited a furniture exhibition during his week-long stay.

Mr Taylor said: “The concert was absolutely superb and they received a standing ovation for three pieces. I also gave a speech in German to 450 people. We had a great time.”

Bromley and Neuwied were twinned in October 1987.
