Bromley may have to sahre top cop with another borough
Bromley may end up sharing its top cop with a neighbouring borough in a bid to save cash.
Ours is one of 15 boroughs earmarked to share a borough commander, with the most likely collaborator being Bexley.
If the plans are approved, the changes would come into effect next April.
Bromley borough commander Steph Roberts told Bromley Council about the idea last month.
The move comes as the Met tries to make £500m savings by April 2015.
A police spokesman said: “In order to decide which boroughs could be grouped together and which should remain on their own, the overall levels of risk, policing complexity and operational efficiency have been assessed.”
