Fashion graduate Mariella Agapiou scooped the chance of a lifetime to help edit this month’s Elle magazine.

The 23-year-old, from Bromley, was one of 11 interns who compiled the October issue of the world’s biggest fashion magazine.

Mariella, who studied at the University for the Creative Arts at Epsom, won the features editor position but says the experience was nothing like The Devil Wears Prada.

“I learned so much about the production and planning that goes into making such a fabulous title,” she said. “I’m certain those skills will be with me throughout my career and will help me land my dream job.”

The Edited by the Interns 2012 initiative is designed to nurture new talent and help rising fashion and media stars launch their careers in publishing.

The October issue of Elle is currently on sale.
