A glasses-wearing grandmother-of-six from Bromley is in with chance to win £10,000 and a holiday in the Bahamas
A grandmother-of-six from Bromley has been chosen out of hundreds of people across the South East as a regional finalist for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year.
Linda Edwards, 72, could win £10,000 and a luxury holiday in the Bahamas if she takes the overall title.
She said: “I might be a grandmother of six, but being a regional finalist at the age of 72 is proof that you can still have fun with fashion.
“My family were the ones who encouraged me to enter the competition via Facebook and I never thought I would get this far. It’s been a great confidence boost.”
The competition is run by Specsavers and its Bromley store director Reehan Qureishy said: “Linda is a very stylish lady and very deserving of her regional finalist accolade in the 60+ age category.
“The team thoroughly enjoyed meeting Linda and her exuberant personality is infectious. We all have our fingers crossed that Linda goes on to be the overall winner of the competition.”
The awards were launched by Spice Girls singer and Heart FM DJ Emma Bunton earlier this year.
