Bromley enjoys sunshine as London prepares for hottest day of the year

Today is set to become the hottest day of the year as temperatures hit 30 across Bromley.

The Met Office issued a heat health alert for the entire country yesterday, with a more serious level two in the south and south east.

Shoppers in Bromley’s town centre are taking full advantage of the additional green space courtesy of the high street garden, which is set to host Dora the Explorer and friends this afternoon.

Others are enjoying the parks in London’s biggest borough, including those taking part in the forest fun day at High Elms Country Park.

The heatwave comes after days of grey skies and thunder storms, after the boiling conditions during July.
