Hospital trust also charged over death of 30-year-old

A DOCTOR from Bromley has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter over a death in a Kent hospital.

Dr Errol Cornish, 67, of Holmbury Park, has been charged jointly with Dr Nadeem Azeez, 52, over the death of Frances Cappuccini at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust has also been charged with corporate manslaughter.

Ms Cappuccini, 30, died after giving birth by emergency caesarean section on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.

An international warrant has been issued for the arrest of Dr Azeez, formerly of Chestnut Avenue, Tunbridge Wells, as he is believed to have left the country and returned to Pakistan.

The first hearing in the case is due to take place at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court at 10am on Friday, May 1.
