More than 100 delegates attended a council conference last week to discuss the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.

The meeting, at The Warren, Croydon Road, Hayes, looked at ways to prevent abuse, neglect and harm to disabled people or those in care.

Those in attendance included representatives from the fire brigade, social care and care providers.

Robert Evans, executive councillor for care services, said: “This conference brought together those involved at every level in safeguarding adults to learn and share from each other about key issues including financial abuse and the impact of hate crime.”
