Bromley College has received £2million of public funds to develop its facilities for young people with learning disabilities and difficulties.

London Councils, a body which operates on behalf of all the capital’s authorities, was able to secure funding for local councils and Bromley received the maximum amount it was able to apply for.

The college, in Rookery Lane, currently educates more than 9,000 students – varying from 16-year-olds to those taking higher education courses – in conjunction with its partners.

The number of students in Bromley needing additional learning support is on the increase and, as a result, many are moved to other boroughs.

There are already more than 750 students who require additional learning support at Bromley College and the new funding has allowed the college to develop in order to cater for those with more complex needs.
