Group calls on UK to stand up for “justice and accountability”

PEACE campaigners in Bromley have formed a group to press for better human rights in the Middle East.

The Bromley Middle East Network says it is calling on the UK to stand up for “justice, accountability and human rights in the Middle East, based on respect for international law”.

Campaigner Jonathan Coulter said: “We need an independent, clear policy on the Middle East that serves the interests of the people out there, as well as ours.

“Much of what we have done has, albeit unintentionally, strengthened the hands of extremists in the region.”

The group will meet monthly. Email for details.
