Bob Neill MP cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony to celebrate the launch.

The modernised Chislehurst Post Office offers a new open plan layout, a modernised network and extended opening hours.

Children from Red Hill Primary and Nursery School also attended the Christmas themed opening ceremony.

Mr Neill said: “The Post Office is vital to the community in Chislehurst and I’m sure the improved environment, and the longer opening hours, will be warmly welcomed by the community.”

The Postmaster, Kantilal Shah, said: “I have invested in the branch to make sure that the customers experience is excellent and I am very pleased to be officially launching it today for the community.

“Also for the first time we will be a collection point for the local food bank scheme.”
