Bromley and Bexley arrests following dawn raids

Officers have made a number of arrests this morning (Thursday, December 6), including in areas of Bexley and Bromley as part of an investigation into violent disorder which occurred on August 25 in the Hounslow area.

A series of dawn raids were carried out at addresses across London and the southeast and a total of 14 arrests were made.

The following were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in custody:

.A 23-year-old man from Orpington

.A 24-year-old man from Erith

.A 23-year-old man from Sidcup

.A 24-year-old man from West Wickham

.A 37-year-old man from Kennington

.A 23-year-old man from Harrow

.A 24-year-old man from Croydon

.A 22-year-old man from Staines

.A 24-year-old man from Hounslow

.An 18-year-old man from Battersea

.A 4-year-old man from Hounslow

.A 22-year-old man from Hounslow

.A 19-year-old man from Brentford

.A 21-year-old man from Isleworth

The arrests relate to what police believe to be a pre-arranged fight between fans from Brentford FC and Millwall FC which was filmed and posted online.

Inspector Matt Ashmead from the Met’s Football Unit said: “This sends out a clear message that any form of violence, whether football related or not, will not be tolerated and we will actively target those involved in this type of behaviour.

“We will work with our partners, including the relevant clubs, to ensure those responsible are kept away from football matches so genuine supporters can attend in safety.”
