Musicians from Bromley face competition from around 200 other acts to be crowned the Mayor of London’s Gigs champion 2013.

Pop, classical, country and hip-hop were all represented by more than 4,000 entrants across three categories - soloists and duos, groups and youth.

Six acts from the borough have progressed to the public voting stage, and will now play gigs across London at venues such as The O2, Westfield shopping centre and Underground stations including Kings Cross and Waterloo.

The Bromley hopefuls in the soloists and duos category are Becky Gibney, gblazeproductions, Another Day and Open Eyes. They are joined by Victoria Man in the youth section, and 3Dome in the groups.

The winners will be handed the chance to busk in Paris, courtesy of Eurostar, a licence to busk on the Tube, a one-year course at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and recording time at a top studio.

A total 18 acts will make it to the grand final on Sunday, September 8 at Westfield shopping centre, in Shepherd’s Bush.
