Mayor of Bromley, Cllr Ernest Noad, launched the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) shops stock donation appeal at intu Bromley on Saturday.

He was the first person to donate a bag of items to the Great British Bag-athon, which encourages local residents to give a bag of unwanted items to the BHF store, in Bromley High Street.

Maria Cooper, marketing manager at intu Bromley, said: “We’d like to encourage everyone in the Bromley community to join in Britain’s biggest bag filling event and help fund life-saving research into heart disease.

“Simply fill up one bag, or many, and help the BHF fight for every heartbeat.”

For more information on donating your unwanted clothes, books, DVDs and toys, visit bhf.org.uk/bagathon.
