British Gas to trial online home repairs service in Bromley

The Local Heroes service allows homeowners to quickly describe the problem and be provided with an instant quote
A new online service developed by British Gas to easily manage home repairs is set to be trialled in Bromley.
The service, called Local Heroes, has been designed to alleviate the stress that can be caused after something has gone wrong and the homeowner invites an unknown person to fix it, with no guarantee of reliability or cost.
Local Heroes works by putting Bromley residents in touch with an accredited local tradesperson online.
On the website the homeowner can quickly describe the problem and be provided with an instant quote, with a Local Hero found within 10 minutes.
All work is guaranteed by British Gas for a period of 12 months, and payment is only taken once the job is complete.
The trial in Bromley will focus exclusively on people who are in need of a plumber.
Jobs will initially be carried out by Dyno engineers based in the borough, with other accredited local tradespeople to be included later in the trial, which will run for a period of around three months.

“Bromley is a great area for us to trial the service, with its high number of property owners.
“The feedback that we receive from customers in the area will be crucial in helping us to develop and grow the service.”
