PUBLISHED: 13:00 08 January 2013 | UPDATED: 13:00 08 January 2013

The final report into the break-up of South London Healthcare Trust was presented to Parliament on Tuesday morning.

It follows a public consultation on draft proposals and recommends that Princess Royal in Farnborough should be acquired by Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

It also recommends the sale of “vacant and poorly utilised premises”, one of which could potentially be Orpington Hospital.

Trust administrator Matthew Kershaw is also pressing ahead with plans to close Lewisham’s A&E, despite huge protest.

Jeremy Hunt now has until February 1 to make his final decision on the recommendations.
