Beckenham’s economy has received a welcome boost with the news that 35 new jobs are to be created at a local business.

Investment in a new press at European Springs and Pressings, which is based at Chaffinch Business Park, has led to a string of new orders at the firm.

It has grown by ten per cent this year, with most of the new business won in the automotive, aerospace, electronics and power distribution sectors.

Managing director Stuart McSheehy said: “Sales are up to £16 million across our three sites in London, Cornwall and Leeds, and our workforce now stands at 170, five of whom are apprentices going through a training programme that has been tailored to suit our current and future needs.”
