Body discovered in pond in Orpington Park

The identity of the person has not been disclosed

A body was found in the pond of an Orington park yesterday morning.

The dead person was discovered in Priory Gardens at 8.10am.

Emergency services were sent to the scene.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and an incident response officer to the scene.

“Sadly a person had died at the scene.”

Met Poice said: “Attempts made to revive the man, believed to be aged in his 50s, were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards. The death has been deemed non-suspicious.

Next of kin have been informed. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The identity of the person has not been disclosed.
