Bishop Challoner School in Shortlands last week hosted Kent’s Key Stage 2 General Knowledge Quiz competition for the fourth year running.

Some 48 gifted and talented junior pupils competed in 12 teams from eight independent schools based in the county and south east London.

The Quiz Master challenged their general knowledge against the clock, and the teams performed well, competing against some very impressive competition.

Beechwood Sacred Heart School came first with a total of 2070 points and will go through to the next round.

The Quiz Club Inter-School Championship is a unique and exciting competition which motivates, inspires, encourages and rewards children in their quest for knowledge and provides them with the opportunity to celebrate their achievement by representing their school in the world’s largest inter-school competition.

More than 400,000 children take part in the championship annually in the United Kingdom.

Caroline Nixon, Bishop Challoner’s gifted and talented coordinator, said: “All the students demonstrated their positive efforts, practise and devoted contribution towards this memorable day.”
