Biggin Hill airport opening hours: we’re *not* deciding next week, council says

Decision expected later in the autumn
The question of Biggin Hill airport’s opening hours is *not* going to be settled next week – whatever anyone says.
Bromley Council says it hasn’t decided yet when it will discuss the report on the airport’s proposal to extend its operating times – but says it definitely won’t be at the executive meeting on Wednesday, September 9, and will probably be later in the autumn.
Council leader Stephen Carr said: “There continues to be considerable interest in Biggin Hill airport and the correspondence we have received from people has been helpful and duly noted.
“Although some people have thought that the operating hours have already been changed, no decision has been taken.
“We will publicise both the report and the meeting date in advance, so people can make comments about the report or attend the meeting.
“But this will not be on September 9 and I would not want people to attend in the mistaken belief it was on the agenda.”
In March, the council resolved to approve the proposals if the airport agreed to a number of conditions, subject to a further council debate.
