A man with links to Bromley has made it through to the X Factor’s final 16.

29-year-old Ben Haenow, who used to work at Sainsbury’s in West Wickham, made it safely through to the next round of the competition after performing his take on AC/DC classic Highway to Hell.

The van driver, from Croydon, is being mentored by Simon Cowell and has received praise throughout the competition.

He has the firm support of Beckenham butcher Ron Etheridge, the owner of Villagers on High Street Beckenham, who has created a signature sausage in his honour.
